Dentons came first in two key categories – total fee-earner headcount and headcount of licensed legal practitioners.

According to Rzeczpospolita’s survey of law firms, Dentons retained its leading position in real estate and energy law, with Paweł Dębowski, Head of the Europe Real Estate practice, and Arkadiusz Krasnodębski, Dentons Poland Managing Partner and Head of the Europe and Poland Energy and Natural Resources practices, again named leading practitioners in their respective areas of specialization.

Dentons was also recommended in public procurement law and insolvency law. Partners Aldona Kowalczyk, Head of the Public Procurement practice in Warsaw, and Anna Maria Pukszto, Head of the Restructuring, Insolvency and Bankruptcy practice in Warsaw, both received individual recommendations.

In the ‘Handling of Leading Transactions in Poland’ category, Dentons came in third, with three transactions highlighted. These included advising EDF Group in connection with the sale of the group’s heat generation assets to PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna S.A.. This was one of the biggest transactions ever in Poland’s heat and energy market, worth some PLN 4.51billion. The other two transactions were in the real estate sector. Dentons advised Echo Polska Properties in connection with the acquisition of 12 M1 shopping centers and parks in Poland from the Chariot Top Group. This was among last year’s largest real estate deals, worth PLN 2.89 billion. In the other transaction, Dentons advised Globalworth on the acquisition of a controlling stake in Griffin Premium Real Estate (GPRE), a company listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. This transaction involved a tender offer to acquire GPRE shares, worth PLN 582 million , addressed to all shareholders in the company.

The results of Rzeczpospolita’s legal ranking were announced at a gala event held in the Polin Museum of the History of Polish Jews in Warsaw on 23 April 2018.
