London—Dentons has further strengthened its UK Banking and Finance team with the hire of partner Simon Middleton in London. Simon joins from Simmons & Simmons where he was a partner since 2005.

Simon advises both banks and borrowers on a wide range of banking transactions throughout the UK, Europe, North America, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. His main areas of focus are acquisition finance (including public bids and leveraged acquisitions), syndicated and bilateral lending, structured financings and debt restructurings, as well as other general banking work.

Simon's addition follows the hire of two derivatives partners in Dentons' London Banking and Finance team in 2019, Yusuf Battiwala and Luke Whitmore, which was announced in February. Over the past few years, Dentons has also strengthened its UK securitisation and structured finance capabilities with the hire of partners Ed Hickman, Peter Voisey and Martin Sharkey, as well as grown its debt capital markets expertise with the addition of partners Nik Colbridge, Cameron Half and Nick Hayday. The Firm has also enhanced its corporate trustee capabilities with the recruitment of partner Kitty Lloyd.
