A government contracts team from Dentons advised GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) on securing a US government contract in the development of a vaccine for COVID-19 as part of Operation Warp Speed. Sanofi and GSK recently announced their collaboration, jointly valued at $2.1 billion, with the US government to accelerate the development and manufacturing of the vaccine.

The Dentons team was led by Steve Masiello, the Firm’s US Government Contracts practice group leader, and a leader of the Firm’s Global Government and Public Procurement group. The team also included partners Gale Monahan and Phil Seckman, counsel Keric Chin, and associates DeAnna Hamilton and Sandra Sok. The Dentons team assisted in developing the negotiation strategy, negotiating the deal and advising on a host of government contracts risk mitigation and compliance issues.
