Capital Markets: Based in New York, our highly regarded Capital Markets team has been at the forefront of securitization and structured finance for more than three decades. Intellectual Property and Technology: Our leading New York Intellectual Property and Technology (IPT) practice has established Dentons as the “go-to firm” for everything related to trademarks, brand protection, and enforcement matters. Real Estate: The New York Real Estate team is a key component of Dentons’ US 175-lawyer practice. The team is renowned for crafting sophisticated, multifaceted financial transactions that satisfy complex lender requirements and the necessary documentation for closing the deals. Our lawyers advise lenders and borrowers on acquisition, construction, bridge, permanent and mezzanine loan transactions, and revolving credit facilities, among other real-estate related financings. To address the needs of an emerging global real estate industry, we work closely with our worldwide network of real estate lawyers on inbound as well as overseas matters, ensuring a deep understanding of local markets wherever our clients do business.

Restructuring, Insolvency, and Bankruptcy Services: Our New York team provides comprehensive representation for clients both in and out of court, addressing issues related to underperforming and distressed entities, workouts, receiverships, insolvency, and bankruptcy. We focus on strategic, operational, and financial matters, with expertise in mergers and acquisitions as well as equity and debt financing transactions. Our practice is consistently recognized by prestigious organizations such as the American Bankruptcy Institute, The M&A Advisor, Law360, Super Lawyers, and other leading directories.

Our attorneys have successfully managed high-profile cases, including the Verity Health System of California, the second-largest nonprofit hospital bankruptcy in U.S. history, as well as significant matters arising from the PG&E Chapter 11 proceedings, the Dura Automotive Systems bankruptcy, and the bankruptcy of First Guaranty Mortgage Corporation. Recent committee representations include serving the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in both the Fairport Baptist Homes nursing home bankruptcy and the Heywood Healthcare hospital bankruptcy.

We are proud to have represented a leading Russian aerospace company in its acquisition of a U.S. commercial satellite launch services firm as part of a reorganization plan, a transaction that was honored as the “Cross Border Transaction of the Year” by The M&A Advisor. Our lawyers also play active roles in various bankruptcy cases involving Catholic Dioceses in New York and California, where we represent insurance companies.

Our practice is particularly focused on the healthcare and financial services sectors, as well as cross-border matters. We represent a diverse range of clients, including debtors, committees, investors/bidders, trustees, and insurance companies. Our team is proficient in managing out-of-court workouts and navigating debtor cases and adversary proceedings under Chapters 9 and 11. Trusts, Estates and Wealth Preservation: Our practice advises wealthy US and non-US clients on the design and implementation of estate plans, including wills, trusts and advance directives (e.g., living wills/health care proxies/durable powers of attorney); achieving income tax and estate tax savings; and pursuing dynastic protection of family assets. Additionally, we proactively advise executors and trustees in properly and efficiently fulfilling their duties and responsibilities so as to minimize exposure to lawsuits and other claims. Our services also include providing pre-immigration estate and tax planning advice. New York Becomes First In The Nation To Mandate Paid Prenatal Leave
