It is with a heavy heart and profound sadness that we inform our clients, partners and friends, of the unexpected passing of our dear colleague, Jillian E. Shortt, on January 6, 2025, leaving behind a lasting legacy within our Firm and the legal community.

Jillian was a brilliant lawyer and client strategist, and an integral member of the Firm for more than 30 years. She held various leadership positions, including as our Real Estate sector group leader and practice group leader. She was widely recognized for her expertise in real estate transactions and financing. Her contributions were invaluable.

Jillian was a trusted mentor and friend to many over the years. She had a well-deserved reputation for her dedicated leadership, wisdom and exceptional legal acumen. She was an extraordinary woman – authentic and genuine – who always made time to listen and collaborate with clients and colleagues.

She will be deeply missed by all of her colleagues, clients and many members of the legal community. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Jillian’s family and loved ones.
