Josie Sabino is a senior law clerk and supervisor in the Toronto office’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution (LDR) department. Josie has extensive experience in all aspects of litigation, including civil (insurance, occupiers’ liability and personal injury) and complex commercial (directors’ and officers’ liability, shareholder disputes and securities litigation). Josie’s involvement in these matters includes analyzing and summarizing documentary evidence, gathering and producing client documents, summarizing discovery evidence and assisting with the preparation of mediation memorandums and pre-trial conference memorandums. Josie also has experience with trial preparation, including locating witnesses, preparing trial briefs, and preparing notices under the Evidence Act.
Josie also has experience in eDiscovery, including processing, analyzing and reviewing electronically stored information as well as assisting lawyers and clients with the process of collecting electronically stored information.
Along with her law clerk duties, Josie supervises the litigation law clerks and is an integral part of the operational initiatives within the LDR department. As an analytical and resourceful professional, Josie deals with work distribution and delegation, resource planning operations and delivering effective leadership to law clerks for maximum professional development. She is also involved in identifying and implementing tools to streamline new and existing practices, collaborating on design and training for new systems. Josie is an articulate communicator, problem solver, relationship-builder and remains client-focused.
Prior to joining Dentons, Josie was a senior law clerk at a large national law firm in Toronto.
