Poland’s Public Procurement Law Association (SPZP) held a debate on the functioning of systems of legal protection measures in the field of public procurement law in Poland and other EU member states on September 28, 2017. Dentons' Aldona Kowalczyk, Anna Szymańska, and Michał Drozdowicz are members and co-founders of the SPZP.

During the event, Aldona Kowalczyk, Chairperson of SPZP and Head of Dentons’ Public Procurement practice in Warsaw, gave the opening speech, while counsel Anna Szymańska presented the “Report on the functioning of systems of legal protection measures in EU member states” produced by the association. The report was co-authored by Anna and lawyers from two other law firms, on the basis of answers to a questionnaire sent by the association to law firms in 27 EU member states. The questions concerned a wide range of issues, including the organization of the appeal system, legal solutions and the functioning of legal protection measures in practice.

The debate attracted representatives of government institutions, experts and public procurement practitioners, as well as a representative of the European Commission. Media patronage was provided by Rzeczpospolita, Poland’s leading business newspaper.
