London—Brian Kennedy, senior associate in Dentons' London Real Estate team, has been recognised by the British LGBT Awards 2019 as a Top 10 LGBT+ Future Leader.

The British LGBT Awards celebrate the achievements of individuals and organisations who work to improve the lives of LGBT+ people. The awards ceremony will take place on Friday 17 May 2019 where the overall winner in each Top 10 category will be announced, as selected by a panel of judges.

Brian is the co-founder and co-chair of the Firm's UK LGBT+ and ally network, GLOW, and leads Dentons' LGBT+ client outreach programme (facilitating engagement with client organisations in LGBT+ initiatives). In the past 12 months he has led the delivery of a panel event on challenges faced by LGBT+ people of faith (Dentons' first key client collaboration of this type); developed GLOW’s “consultancy service” (designed to involve client service teams in LGBT-related activities); organised Dentons’ first joint event between GLOW and the Firm’s women’s network (an evening with the British adventurer and best-selling author Sarah Outen MBE); and organised events in support of both LGBT-related and non-LGBT+ charities.

Brian is passionate about diversity and inclusion and promoting cultural change both within Dentons and across the legal sector. He is involved in Dentons’ reverse-mentoring scheme where LGBT+ staff mentor the Firm's board members on LGBT+ issues, serves on the Firm’s Regional Diversity and Inclusion Committee, shares LGBT+ expertise with other organisations and is a member of the steering group for the LeGal BesT network of law firms.

His work has contributed to Dentons featuring in its highest ever position of 15th in Stonewall's Top 100 Employers list for 2019 (with GLOW recognised as a Highly Commended Network Group), and to GLOW being named as a top 10 LGBT+ network group in the British LGBT Awards 2018.
