Dubai—Dentons, the world's largest global law firm, has strengthened both its Investigations and Regulatory practice and its Technology, Media and Telecoms (TMT) practice in the Middle East with the relocation of London-based partners, Christopher Brennan and Henrietta Baker, to Dubai.
Christopher Brennan is a contentious regulatory specialist ranked as a "Leading Individual" by Legal 500 and also recommended by Chambers. He joins the Dubai office from Dentons' London office where he has spent the last year working on high-profile regulatory and investigations cases.
Over the past 25 years, Chris has worked in both private practice and in-house. He has advised on many of the largest and most sensitive investigations in the financial markets and across other sectors. Chris acts for corporates and individuals facing regulatory scrutiny, enforcement or criminal prosecution. His arrival strengthens Dentons' Middle East Contentious Regulatory and Investigations team.
Henrietta Baker is head of Dentons' TMT practice for the UK, Ireland and Middle East and is ranked as "Next Generation Partner" in Commercial Contracts and IT & Telecoms by Legal 500 2023. She joins the Dubai office having previously led one of the strongest and largest specialist TMT practices in London, Milton Keynes, Glasgow and Dublin. Henrietta will continue to lead the UK and Ireland practice while being based on the ground in Dubai to further expand the practice in the Middle East.
Henrietta has more than 13 years of experience advising clients on legal strategy, policy and negotiation, supporting companies at all levels of the technology ecosystem, as well as non-technology companies procuring solutions. In particular, she has extensive experience in advising on communications procurement, ERP implementation, system integration, software development, cloud services (including SaaS, PaaS and IaaS), cybersecurity, AI, IoT, e-commerce, application development and maintenance, and networks projects. In addition, Henrietta regularly advises on a large number of diverse commercial arrangements, including global distribution arrangements, transitional services arrangements, business process outsourcing, manufacturing contracts, arrangements for payment technologies and concession agreements.
Paul Jarvis, UK, Ireland and Middle East CEO at Dentons, said: "Christopher will undoubtedly strengthen our regulatory team in the Middle East and Henrietta has advised on some of the most complex TMT matters – their arrival will add to the bench strength of talent within Dentons Middle East."
