Amberlee is a member of Dentons' Tax practice and Tax-Advantaged Investments practice. She focuses on transactional tax, equity and finance matters, with specific experience in housing tax credits, energy tax credits, historic tax credits and new markets tax credits. Amberlee brings a unique perspective and strong business acumen to the practice, having previously worked as a member of the energy tax credit portfolio management team at one of the largest financial institutions in the world. She has been both counsel and client in the tax credit business and, as such, is exceptionally practical and solution-driven.

Amberlee frequently counsels clients on a broad range of issues that arise throughout the life of an investment, from acquisitions and origination to wind-ups and dispositions. In the renewable energy sector, she has represented many developers and financial institutions in acquiring, constructing and financing projects generating more than 10 gigawatts of energy using wind, solar and other renewable energy technologies. In the affordable housing industry, Amberlee has represented clients on large-scale credit enhanced investments, secondary market transactions, proprietary fund investments and direct investments.

With a background in mathematics, Amberlee has developed proficiency in analyzing and explaining how tax principles impact economic returns and other business considerations. She also has developed and refined numerous financial models for partnership and leasing structures using a variety of platforms, including Excel, Warren and Selbert's ABC software, and other propriety programs. Amberlee possesses considerable knowledge and experience in using the hypothetical liquidation at book value (HLBV) method for both tax and accounting purposes.
