The Dutch Government has recently published a new legislative proposal with a huge impact for the Dutch Real Estate market. In short, the new legislative proposal ensures that the Real Estate Transfer Tax (RETT) concurrence exemption does not apply to the acquisition of the shares in a Real Property Entity. If this new legislation will be implemented, 10,4% RETT will be due on the acquisition of newly developed property or building land through a share deal.
