Jodie is a partner in the Planning Environment and Government group of Dentons in Sydney. Jodie has more than 18 years’ experience as a planning, environmental and local government lawyer.
Throughout her career, Jodie has advised on all aspects of planning and environment law. Her particular areas of expertise include planning law; environmental compliance and due diligence; pollution and contaminated land; compulsory land acquisitions; land tax appeals; land and environment court litigation; and local government law.
Jodie regularly appears in Land and Environment Court proceedings on behalf of clients in classes 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 proceedings. She has prepared and conducted many appeals in the Land and Environment Court of NSW in respect of development proposals, as well as valuation and compensation appeals under the Land Acquisition (Just Terms Compensation) Act 1991.
Jodie’s clients include large corporate landholders, as well as individual landowners and a large metropolitan council.
Jodie also leads the Dentons Sydney Pro Bono practice, which provides free legal services to a wide range of individuals and not for profit organisations in indigenous, arts and rural communities. Jodie was recently awarded an Arts Law Pro Bono Award by the Arts Law Centre of Australia for her contribution.
