Sirote is pleased to announce that one of its Birmingham-based shareholders, Elizabeth H. Hutchins, has been named to the Birmingham Business Journal’s 2021 Best of the Bar list. 

Liz is co-chair of Sirote's Private Clients, Trusts and Estates Practice Group. Her practice includes planning for the management and distribution of clients' estates to accomplish their goals and minimize estate taxes using sophisticated estate planning tools and techniques. She counsels business owners regarding succession planning. In probate administration, she assists in the orderly distribution of estate assets and planning for estate and income tax issues. Liz also works with clients to accomplish effective charitable giving and establishes both public and private tax-exempt charitable entities.

Liz is widely recognized for her work in estate and charitable planning. She has practiced for nearly 40 years focusing on all aspects of estate planning, as well as charitable giving and business succession planning. She is passionate about being involved in the community with charitable causes, and her love for developing relationships with clients and their families shines through in her work.

Liz has garnered an impressive number of awards and recognitions during her legal career. She has been recognized by Chambers High Net Worth every year since 2017; by Best Lawyers® as Birmingham’s “Lawyer of the Year” in Trusts and Estates for 2015 and 2020; and by The Best Lawyers in America© in Trusts and Estates every year since 2003 and in Non-Profit/Charities Law for 2021. She has also been recognized by Mid-South Super Lawyers®. She is a past president of both the Estate Planning Council of Birmingham and the Alabama Planned Giving Council. She is also a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC), where she is the former Alabama State Chair.
