Experience

Air Operators and Aircraft Owners: Representing foreign air operators and business/corporate aircraft owners in relation to Canadian regulatory matters, including cabotage, foreign ownership, licensing and landing rights.
Airlines: Acting for several regional airlines on mergers and acquisitions and leasing/financing transactions, and related regulatory matters.
Airlines: Providing regulatory advice to airline clients relating to Transport Canada and the Canadian Transportation Agency. Work on a regular basis with, and well respected and known to, Canadian regulators.
Aviation Insurance: Advising on all aspects of aircraft hull, liability, war risk and political risk insurance, as well as aircraft repossession/deregistration insurance.
Business Aircraft Buyers/Sellers/Operators: Advising buyers, sellers, operators, managers and charterers on all aspects of business/corporate aircraft transactions.
Business Aircraft Financiers: Negotiating finance and leasing documents for business/corporate aircraft financiers, including mortgages, capital leases and operating leases.
Epic Aviation: Advising with respect to the distribution and sale of aviation fuel and jet fuel to clients across Canada including the Department of National Defence.
Foreign Aviation Authorities: Working with various foreign aviation authorities on regulatory matters applicable to Canadian aircraft.
Industry Canada: Advising with respect to the Government of Canada’s role as one of the lenders involved in Air Canada’s arrangements to raise CA$1.02 billion in additional liquidity through a series of financings and other transactions.
NAV Canada/Various Airport Authorities: Handling aircraft repossession and bankruptcy disputes, including with NAV Canada and Canada 's various airport authorities, and other general aviation commercial disputes.
Satellite Services: Key advisor to several satellite operators and service providers on a variety of licensing and spectrum policy matters.
Transport Canada and Canadian Transportation Agency : Advising in connection with certification, airworthiness, registration, deregistration, import and export matters, and with the Canadian Transportation Agency on licensing, code-sharing, and foreign investment/control issues and proceedings.
Various Creditors: Represented creditors, including financiers and lessor of aircraft, in every significant Canadian airline bankruptcy proceeding in the last 10 years, including Skyservice Airlines, Canada 3000, Royal Airlines, All-Canada Express, Air Canada, Jazz, Jets go and Zoom Airlines, among others.
Various Financial Lessors: Representing financiers/lessors in financing and leasing of aircraft and aircraft engines to Canadian airlines, including novation of existing leases and sale/leasebacks.
