London—Dentons has won Planning Law Firm of the Year at the Planning Awards 2019 which took place in London on 4 June. This is the second time that the Firm has been awarded the top prize having won in 2016 and been Highly Commended in 2017.

The Planning Awards are run by UK publication Planning magazine in conjunction with PlanningResource and PlacemakingResource.

The Awards recognise excellence in both planning and placemaking, rewarding outstanding professional planning work as well as excellence in planning-related activities such as placemaking, urban design, economic development, housing, regeneration, legal advice and environmental consulting.

The winning entry focused on Dentons' work contributing to the revitalisation of UK Garden Cities. The Firm is acting on several Garden Communities, new settlements and strategic land projects and has also provided advice to the government on the policies and legislative frameworks intended to guide the development of the new communities now and in years to come. The judges particularly recognised its "valuable contribution to one of the most pressing planning problems of our future".

Roy Pinnock and Stephen Ashworth, partners and co-heads of the Dentons' UK Planning team, said, "We are delighted to have won this award for the second time in recent years.
