Paris—We are pleased to announce the promotion of Jérôme Le Berre to Partner in the Tax team. This appointment is part of the firm’s growth strategy to meet the changing needs and demands of its clients.

A member of the Paris Bar since 1999, Jérôme’s practice focuses on transactional tax matters (mergers and acquisitions, private equity, joint ventures and restructurings), and he also advises French and foreign institutional investors on the structuring of their acquisitions, disposals and partnerships in the real estate sector.

He assisted LRC Group and a group of Israeli institutional investors on the acquisition—via OPCI River Ouest—of the River Ouest complex, a 64,000 m² office building near La Défense-Paris, and recently, Lighthouse Capital, a listed international real estate investment company, on the acquisition from Wereldhave of a portfolio of shopping centers in France. As a German speaker, he also advises German real estate funds, such as Catella Real Estate and Patrizia.

In addition, he recently acted for Veolia Environnement on certain tax aspects of its takeover bid for Suez.

Jérôme has also developed a strong tax capabilities in the energy and natural resources sector, where he advises international clients on the structuring of their investments in France and French-speaking Africa. In particular, he assists the Canadian group B2Gold on all of its mining projects in sub-Saharan Africa.

He holds a postgraduate degree in business law (University of Paris-XI Paris-Sud) and is a graduate of the Institut Supérieur d'Interprétation et de Traduction (English/German). He is a lecturer in tax law in the Master 2 of International Business Law program at the University of Paris-Saclay and is a member of the Institute of Tax Lawyers (IACF).
