David Metzger is a member of Dentons' Intellectual Property and Technology practice.He has over 30 years’ experience assisting clients in all aspects of intellectual property law, and is well-known for developing creative and successful solutions customized to fit the needs of his clients. The main focus of his practice is the procurement, development, licensing and litigation of utility and design patents. His experience spans a wide range of technologies in the electronic, electrical and mechanical arts, and includes the preparation of infringement and validity studies and the drafting and negotiation of licenses and other agreements. David also has helped clients throughout the United States, as well as in Asia and Europe.

He also helps his clients protect their trade secrets and copyrights, and defend against assertions of trade secret theft and unfair competition.

Before becoming a lawyer, David developed software for recognizing terrain features and translating Defense Mapping Agency mapping data into out-the-window graphics for Goodyear Aerospace Corporation’s F-15 simulators.
